Privacy & Consent

Your story is the most private thing here.

The First 50 collects unusually personal information — how you identify, how you love, what you hope for. We treat that as a trust, not a data asset.

What we collect

Your eligibility answers, the answers you choose to give in the guided conversation, the photographs and introduction video you upload, and your retreat preferences. We do not collect salary, net worth, or financial documentation. We do not ask for identity documents unless you separately agree to an optional identity check requested by the curator.

How your information is used

So that a person can read your application and decide whether the founding cohort is right for you, so that we can help you shape an editorial lookbook from your own words, and so that we can understand whether members want to take this offline at a retreat. Nothing else.

AI and your words

The guided conversation is conducted with an AI guide, and it is disclosed before you begin. We never make mental-health diagnoses or psychological judgements, and we never infer your orientation, gender expression, or attractiveness from photographs or documents. You may delete recordings and transcripts at any time. Your data is never used to train external AI models unless you give separate, explicit consent.

Publication consent is separate

Completing an application, being accepted, and publishing your lookbook are three different things. Nothing from your application — no answers, no photographs, no video — becomes visible to other members until you give explicit publishing consent for that lookbook, and you can withdraw it at any time to have your profile removed from the collection.

Who can see what

You can see your own application and lookbook. The curator can see applications in order to review them. Approved members can see published lookbooks inside the private collection. Nobody can see another member's application answers, contact details, legal name, or identity verification. Access is enforced on our servers, not merely hidden in the interface.

Retention, deletion, and no sale of data

We keep your application while it is under review and for a reasonable period afterwards so that a future cohort can consider it, and we delete it on request. You can request account deletion from your settings at any time. We never sell your data and never share it for advertising.

The honest limit of privacy

Access to the collection is restricted to approved members and every media file is served through an authorization check. Still, we want you to know the truth: no private digital room can prevent another member from taking a screenshot or a recording. Please share your lookbook with that in mind.
